Answer: Dusky Kalm holds a deeply personal meaning for us: the D and the K are the first initials of my two children, making this brand a true labor of love. We wove those meaningful initials into a name inspired by that magical, quiet hour of the day—the dusk—when the sun sets, the world slows down, and we finally get to transition from the chaos of the day into peace. The "Kalm" represents our ultimate mission: to help you ground your senses, breathe a little deeper, and curate a tranquil, comforting sanctuary for you and your family.

Question: Why coconut soy wax?

Answer: We chose a premium blend of coconut and soy wax because it is significantly kinder to both your home and the planet. Unlike traditional paraffin candles (which are petroleum-based and can emit soot), coconut soy wax is 100% biodegradable, sustainable, and renewable. It burns incredibly cleanly, lasts up to 50% longer than paraffin, and holds onto fragrance beautifully so your space smells amazing from the first burn to the last.

Question: Why do you use essential oils?

Answer: We believe home fragrance should do more than just mask odors—it should elevate your well-being. By infusing our candles with pure, plant-derived essential oils, we tap into the power of aromatherapy. Whether you need the grounding properties of cedarwood, the soothing calm of lavender, or the bright energy of citrus, our scents actively work to shift the mood of your room and your mind.

Question: What makes your candles better than standard high-street candles?

Answer: Many mass-produced candles are made with cheap paraffin wax, synthetic dyes, and harsh artificial fragrances that can cause headaches or leave black soot on your walls. Dusky Kalm candles are hand-poured in small batches using clean-burning coconut soy wax, natural lead-free cotton wicks, and pure essential oil blends. You get a cleaner burn, a richer scent throw, and a product completely free from toxins, parabens, and phthalates.

Question: Are candles safe to burn all day?

Answer: We don't recommend burning any candle all day long. For safety and to get the most out of your candle, never burn a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Burning a candle too long can cause the wick to mushroom, create a flame that is too large, and overheat the glass vessel. (Pro tip: Extinguish your candle at the 4-hour mark, let the wax completely cool and solidify, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch, and then relight it!)

Question: How long does shipping take?

Answer: We hand-pour our products with love and care. Once your order is placed, it typically takes 1 to 2 business days to process and pack. Standard Shipping delivers within 3 to 5 business days after dispatch.
